It is with great sadness that Welcoming the Stranger announces the passing of Bill Kennedy, the President of our Board of Directors. He had served as Board President since 2008.
There is a memorial fund at Welcoming the Stranger should you wish to remember Bill in this way. Learn more about this at Memorial Fund in Memory of Bill Kennedy.

Welcoming the Stranger will be conducting online and in-person English, Citizenship, and Computer classes during the Spring 2024 term, which will run from April 8, 2024, through June 28, 2024. We will be offering English classes for beginner, intermediate, and advanced students. For registration information, please go to the Classes page.

Welcoming the Stranger is an educational non-profit that offers free classes in English as a Second Language (ESL), computer skills, and United States citizenship exam preparation to adult immigrants and refugees in the Philadelphia metro region.
