What is Welcoming the Stranger?
Welcoming the Stranger is a ministry of the Lower Bucks Center for Church
and Community. It provides free classes in English,
computers, and citizenship to immigrants and
refugees in Lower Bucks County.
Founded in 1999,
Welcoming the Stranger has taught more than 1500
students from 80 different countries!
Using paid
teachers and over 200 volunteers, primarily from
local congregations, classes are currently being
offered in nine Bucks County locations: the Computer
Center of the Langhorne Baptist Church, the Ivins
House of the Morrisville Presbyterian Church,
the Warminster United Church of Christ, the Philadelphia
Park Race Track, the St. Mary Hospital Family
Resource Center in Bensalem, the YWCA Center
at the Creekside Apartments in Bensalem, the
Morrisville United Methodist Church, the Brunswick
at Attleboro in Langhorne, and the Chandler Hall
Health Services in Newtown.
Those who might like

the Stranger classes should call Rev. Sturgis
