The Passing of Bill Kennedy

Welcoming the Stranger, a non-profit organization based in Langhorne, PA, is deeply saddened to announce the passing of William J. Kennedy, President of our Board.

Bill joined Welcoming the Stranger in its earliest years as a volunteer English teacher for immigrants and refugees. He taught for several years before being named to the Board. He has served as Board President since 2008.

Welcoming the Stranger will miss him. We will always remember his kindness, his wisdom and the solid vision that he had for our organization. He was the constant encourager, who managed to keep us on an even keel, even through the most challenging times. All of us who worked with him truly loved him. His passing will leave a hole in our hearts, and will be a loss for us in so many ways. He was truly dedicated to every aspect of Welcoming the Stranger, sharing guidance drawn from his significant professional expertise and his life experience. His work enhanced the lives of hundreds of immigrants and refugees within our community. WTS expresses deepest condolences to Bill’s wonderful family, and we hope these heartfelt words bring some comfort to his family and friends. May his memory be a blessing that encourages us to carry forward his commitment to the immigrants and refugees in our communities.
