Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church invites everyone to a presentation by Patricia Lorenz, Executive Director of Welcoming the Stranger (WTS). Ms. Lorenz, assisted by volunteer teacher Mike Holland and adult students  who atted WTS classes. Learn about WTS's work and what everyone can do to help immigrants and refugees successfully integrate into American life.

Patricia Lorenz, Executive Director of Welcoming the Stranger, is one of five women business leaders honored in 2023 by the Bucks County YWCA for their advocacy and civic engagement in Bucks County. Over its 31 years, the YWCA "Salute to Women Who Make a Difference" has honored hundreds of women while raising much- needed funds to support the YWCA’s mission of eliminating racism, empowering women, and promoting peace, justice, freedom, and dignity for all.

WTS Receives Prestigious Atlantic Renewal Award

The Atlantic Renewal Awards, supported by Allstate, honor the most innovative community-based programs in America, In 2019, Welcoming the Stranger received this award along with  four other nonprofits from across the country. The five honorees were selected from 9,300 nominations in recognition of their success in address some of the most pressing challenges facing America today, collectively affecting tens of thousands of lives.  Each received $40,000 over two years to support their work.
