What Our Students Are Saying
Denis I, Russia
Welcoming the strangers is not only about language, it is also about new friends and acquaintances, about teachers who will always come to the rescue and will not leave you in difficult times, about immersion in American culture.
In the end, I would like to say that our life in America is just beginning, but we are very glad that it begins with welcoming the stranger.

We have two children and four grandchildren living in this country, as American citizens. It is the only family my wife and I have.
So, we decided to move to this great country for family reunification. Settling down in a different country is quite difficult for older people who barely speak the language. Yes, we could write, read and listen to the English language; but to speak in a proper way in orden to be understood was very difficult. Fortunately we found Welcoming The Stranger who helped us to feel comfortable in many ways. They not only teach english language but also about many ways of good living in america.

I am very grateful to all my wonderful teachers - Nancy Miller, Paula Barrow, John Davison. I have been studying with Nancy Miller for several years now. Thanks to her, I am starting to speak and understand English. John Davison was my citizenship teacher. He is an extraordinary teacher. He passed on his love for our country to his students. I am now a US citizen.
