Long-term or planned giving means making a commitment to a charitable organization for the donation of a major gift to be given over a period of time or at death.

There are multiple ways to make a planned gift, including:

  • In your will:  Make a gift to support Welcoming the Stranger in your will or living trust.

  • Retirement Plan Assets:  Use your tax-deferred retirement plan assets to benefit Welcoming the Stranger.

  • Life Income Gifts:  Transfer assets to the Welcoming the Stranger and you and your chosen beneficiary receive income for a term of years or for life. After the conclusion of the term, the remainder of the life income gift is distributed to Welcoming the Stranger.

Consult with a qualified professional advisor to help you in making your planned gift. If you’d like to discuss your intentions for a planned gift with us, please email Patricia Lorenz, Executive Director or call her at (215)702-3445.

Double Your Impact: Have Your Gift Matched

Did you know that many employers will match your gift to Welcoming the Stranger?

By taking advantage of a match from your employer, you can double or triple the impact of your gift. Some companies even match gifts made by retirees and/or spouses.

If you aren't sure if your employer matches gifts, you can ask the HR department, the accountant, or, if you work for a small business, the owner.
