Over 200 supporters, staff, volunteers and students gathered for this gala event funding free classes for adult immigrants and refugees in Pennsylvania and New Jersey, held at Christ’s Home Community Center in Warminster, PA. All enjoyed a multicultural feast prepared by students, accompanied by live music, a raffle and a silent auction. The highlight of the evening was introducing our honoree, Ginny Lavanish. Ginny has dedicated 25 years of her life to Welcoming the Stranger, first as a teacher and later on by serving on the Board. patrThree student speakers took the microphone and described what Welcoming the Stranger has meant for them and the importance of volunteer teachers in their lives. We look forward to seeing our students, volunteers, donors, and supporters at our next International Dinner!
